Group solicitation is the most effective and efficient technique for increasing employee contributions. Here are some suggestions to make this meeting as successful as possible:

Give advance notice of the meeting.

Let employees know why United Way is in the workplace, how supportive the company is of United Way and that they will be asked to contribute at the meeting.

The CEO should sign this letter or notice.
Other meeting suggestions:
· Limit meeting to no longer than 30 minutes. · Have all your supplies available, including pens. · Require attendance. · Know the answers to frequently asked questions. · Collect all pledge cards at the end of the meeting. · Limit attendance to 30 people or less. · Personally contact any employees who could not attend the group meeting.
