2024 Campaign

Dear Colleague,

Your regular donations ensure greater social impact within your workplace and help Southeast Alaskans thrive.

United Way of Southeast Alaska (United Way) collaborates with communities and partners across Southeast Alaska to strengthen and improve Heathy Communities, Community Resiliency, Youth Opportunity, and Financial Stability for all residents. United Way brings resources to meet pressing community needs. United Way also distributes funds to over 30 partner agencies across Southeast Alaska as part of its annual fundraising campaign.

Here’s how your donations made a difference in recent years, with a focus on education, food security, rapid response and community coordination.

  • Following the 2020 Haines landslide, we partnered with Salvation Army, Alaska Marine Highway, Alaska Seaplanes and Haines School District to deliver 1,000 meals in response to the 2020 Haines landslide
  • With St. Vincent de Paul we re-invigorated the Homeless Coalition, conducted a point-in-time survey, distribute winter clothing in collaboration with the Juneau Auto Mall Subaru dealership, provided Mental Health First Aid Training, and provided supplies to individuals that were served through the Warming Shelter.
  • The Juneau CARES program supported 23 restaurants to prepare 75,000 meals at local shelters and pick-up locations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • After the recent Juneau floods, our coordinated volunteer efforts helped those harmed by the flood and showed the power of community collaboration.

In 2024, United Way is focused on: Disaster Relief, Housing, and Homelessness.

  • Disaster Relief: Lessons learned in the recent flooding show that United Way is in a unique position to provide coordination and collaboration among established nonprofits and citizens who want to volunteer their skills and resources.
  • Housing: We are working to unite leaders, nonprofits, and resources to find viable, local solutions to address the need for affordable housing throughout the region.
  • Homelessness: We will continue to bring resources together to address the needs of individuals facing homelessness as well as other pressing issues as they arise.

You can make an even bigger impact in the year ahead. We hope you will choose to participate in workplace giving because your support ensures that Southeast Alaskans – your neighbors, friends, and family – get the help they need when they need it most. If you are unable to donate through workplace giving, you can donate through our website or you can drop us a check.

Every dollar stays in southeast Alaska and helps your communities, family, friends and neighbors. Join us today to create a stronger Southeast Alaska.

Sincerely,

Loren Jones
